ABSTRACT

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) refer to musculoskeletal disorders caused by work or work as the main cause, which are characterized by high prevalence and heavy burden of disease as a global problem. The classification and catalog of occupational diseases is of great significance for guiding the prevention and control of occupational diseases and safeguarding the rights and interests of workers. The types of WMSDs included in the list of occupational diseases vary greatly from country to country, and the regulations on specific pathogenic factors are also inconsistent. By sorting out and analyzing the lists and characteristics of WMSDs at home and abroad, and using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) in occupational health to standardize of WMSDs in various countries, which would lay the foundation for future multi-country WMSDs occupational health registration and disease burden research, and provide a reference for China to revise the WMSDs list.

ABSTRACT

A rapid and sensitive analytical method was developed for the simultaneous determination of fumonisins B1 and B2 in traditional Chinese medicines by HPLC-MS/MS. The detection limits for fumonisins B1 and B2 were 0.25 ng x mL(-1) corresponding to 2 microg x kg(-1) in samples. Recoveries from different samples spiked with fumonisins B1 and B2 at levels ranging from 0.2 to 3 mg x kg(-1) were 84.0%-96.1% and 86.3%-99.3%, respectively. Among the total of 34 samples purchased from local markets, ten samples of which were visibly moldy samples due to inappropriate storage, and 24 were normal samples. The results showed that 6 of the visibly moldy samples and 5 of the normal samples were contaminated with total fumonisins at levels ranging 82.4-2349 microg x kg(-1) and 102-729 microg x kg(-1), respectively.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Polygala tenuifolia Willd YZ-50 on the mRNA expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BNDF) and its receptor TrkB in rats with chronic stress depression.es.

METHODSNormal male Wistar rats were divided in to control group, model group, desipramine (20 mg/kg) group, and low and high-dose (2.8 and 5.6 g/kg) YZ-50 groups. The total RNA was extracted from the rats with chronic stress depression, and the mRNA expression of BDNF and TrkB was detected by RT-PCR.

RESULTSCompared with the model group, YZ-50 at both low and high doses significantly increased the mRNA expression of BDNF and TrkB in the hippocampus of rats with chronic stress depression, and the effect was more obvious in the high-dose group (P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONYZ-50 can up-regulate the expression of BDNF and TrkB mRNA to promote the recovery of the neurons from chronic stress-induced damages and produces anti-depressant effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the combined poisonous effects of fluoride and aluminum on sex hormone of male rats. Methods Sixteen weaned SD healthy male rats aged two week were selected and divided into control group, aluminum group, fluoride group,fluorine-aluminum group, four rats in each group. All rats in the experimental groups were fed with corn collected from the prevailng areas containing different fluorine contents respectively for 90 days.Serum testosterone(T)and estradiol(E2)were detected. Results Compared separatelv with the control group[(3.317±0.635)μg/L],serum T level of fluorine-aluminum group[(15.994±6.558)μg/L]was higher(P<0.05),but aluminum[(8.134±3.134)μg/L]and fluorine[(1.868±0.367)μg/L]groups had no significant differences(P>0.05).Compared separately with the control group[(0.319±0.072)nmol/L],E2 level of the fluorine group[(0.172±0.030)nmol/L]being lower(P<0.05),and it was not significant differences(P>0.05)in the control group when compared with aluminum group[(0.282±0.012)nmol/L],and fluorine-aluminum group[(0.265±0.047)nmol/L].Fluorine and aluminum interacted with each other(F=9.82,P<0.05).Conclusion The combined poisonous effects of fluorine and aluminum may influence sex hormone levels of male rats.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the antidepressant components of Polygala tenuifolia.

METHODThe chromatographic method was used to isolate and purify the chemical constituents, their structures were identified by spectral analysis, MTT method was applied to investigate their cytotoxic activities.

RESULTNine compounds were isolated from the roots of P. tenuifolia. Their structures were identified as sibiricose A, (1), sibiricose A5 (2), tenuifoliside A (3) and 3', 6-disinapoyl sucrose (4), sibiricose A6 (5), 3, 4, 5-trimethoxycinnamate (6), polygalaxanthone III (7), tenuifolioses A (8), tenuifolioses H (9) and some compounds' activities to PC12 were observed.

CONCLUSIONCompound 1 was isolated from this plant for the first time. Compounds 2,3 could protect PC12 cells damage induced by P. tenuifolia.
